FishingGuidePages.com is a personal website of mine that I created as a fishing guide directory/ad platform. While developing some websites for individual fishing guides, I found the need for advertising services and directories, so instead of doing without, I created my own. Some of the website features include: a fishing guide forum, local fishing reports, a monthly newsletter, informational articles, jokes, guide directory, link directory, and ad platform.

Services Performed:

Web Development - While developing this website the main functionality I wanted to achieve was building a large database of guide services through out the US. How a achieved that was by implementing a free and paid ad platform for fishing guides. I then broke down search options to include, location, fish species, and hierarchy ranking system – braking guide services down into basic, premium, sponsored, and featured listings.

Marketing - My main marketing technique for this project is SEO, and achieving high indexing and page ranks for individual location searches – I have achieved a significant amount of organic search traffic and made it to the top of google search for high ranking keywords like “fishing guides”. While in the development stages I needed to promote the site first and for-most to fishing guides – I achieved that by using search spiders to build a list of fishing guide sites and contacted the site owners via email and newsletter campaigns. After achieving a high page rank score in the search engines, and establishing a large monthly organic search traffic mark, I started offering in-house advertising/marketing services, and now offer paid listings to guide service owners.

Brand Identity - FishingGuidePages.com is not only a directory of quality guides, but also an information source for fisherman, offering local fishing reports, informational articles, and advice. I am also building the brand by creating a sister site: HuntingGuidePages.com, and plan to soon expand the brand furthermore into an outdoors/sportsman information powerhouse.

Advertising - I provide advertising services to guides within the directory, offering paid listings to get to the top of the guide list and provide more information about their services. I also offer paid banner ads and newsletter marketing for guide services.

Design - While designing this project I wanted to give the site a clean, easy navigation for users with a header/layout that would match one of a fisherman magazines look and feel.
