The Freedoms of Internet Marketing.
This year the 4th of July (today), fell on a Monday – Hence, I should be working… and the beauty of it all, is that I AM working… remotely from a mobile device while enjoying the extended weekend with friends and family. Being able to work from any location I choose is one of the reasons I decided to write this post, because as an internet marketer, I have more job freedoms than in any other industry I can think of.
Don’t get me wrong, being your own boss can definitely have it’s downfalls, like long workaholic hours, and tons of stress, but if you have a passion for marketing like I do, it’s not hard to let the good outweigh the bad. When I speak of the good, there are many things that come to mind, but the one factor that easily overshadows the others, is job freedom, and there are many. I am proud to be an American citizen – this country has given me the opportunity to follow my dreams and create my own career. I choose to be an internet marketer, and here is a list of some of the job freedoms I and other marketers get to enjoy on a daily basis.
#1 – Full Creative Control.
I have been creative since I can remember, and being able to put my own unique spin on my campaigns is my greatest advantage in this industry. Having creative control allows you to channel your inner Da Vinci, and make ALL the decisions you can handle. I need to have an artistic outlet to be happy, and having this freedom allows me to feel unique and thrive – both in the business world, and personal life.
#2 – Work From Anywhere.
Technology ROCKS! Because of technology, internet marketers can virtually work from anywhere in the world. Hell, I could be writing this in Japan and nobody reading would know the difference. As long as I have some sort of internet connection (wired, mobile, or even satellite), I have access to everything I need to be successful. In fact, I was checking my email and stats from a fishing boat not more than a couple hours ago… catching conversions and fish at the same time! lol… God bless this freedom!
#3 – Setting Your Own Hours.
According to everybody I know, this freedom has to be the one with the most envy. Marketers can plan work around life – not the other way around. I personally am not yet tied down with a wife or children, but if I was, this would be huge. I’m working constantly because I love what I do, but when I want a break, or have an event, trip or random (hey man, wanna go hit some golf balls?) friend request, I can usually jump out of my ergonomic desk chair and enjoy whatever is going on at the time.
#4 – Can’t Get Fired!
I have never lost a job in my life, and I take pride in that, but unless every single affiliate network I’m involved with (and there’s alot of them) goes under, I’m good to go. Of coarse I could decide to fire myself… kinda doubt that will happen.
#5 – The Challenge.
Life would be boring without challenges, and the only difference with this job freedom, is that marketers get to choose what the next challenge will be. If you bite of more than you can chew, you could just set it off to the side and move on to the next project. I love a good challenge and the internet marketing industry is full of them – over 90% of people attempting to be online entrepreneurs never see success. I say, BRING IT ON!
As you can see, internet marketing has some great benefits and job freedoms – more than I can even think of. I listed some of the bigger advantages over other jobs/careers (in my opinion anyway), so if you are an internet marketer, I hope your celebrating not only American freedoms, but also job freedoms with me today. I think we should have an official Marketing Freedom holiday designated! God bless America and Marketing!
